I never got around completely polishing it and releasing it in the plugin store. The Beta version is pretty stable and fully supported, though. You can access it by joining this group: https://tims.bastelstu.be/index.php?user-group-list/ and then downloading it from my Package Server: https://packages.bastelstu.be/be.bastelstu.chat/3.1.0_beta_3

it is not. The Chat does not support guests for technical reasons.

Is there anything particular it does (the BETA) to add the # count. The new style I have purchased has a custom mainMenu template and was wondering why it may not be showing up there. The option is checked in the ACP. Or does it only show if someone is actually in the chat?

OK, answered my own question.

yes. It uses the same functionality as Burning Board to show the number. The badge automatically is hidden by Community Framework and this is not under control of the chat.
