"Service Unavailable"

  • I'm currently trying to use Tim's Package Server and it seems to work great! A basic but functional package server (which is perfect!). However, I'm having a little trouble with the auth.json aspect. I only get a "Service Unavailable" page.

    Bash
    ls -la packages/
    auth.json
    com.dynamogeek.boardheaders
    com.dynamogeek.fancypost
    com.dynamogeek.googlemaps
    com.dynamogeek.posttemplates
    com.dynamogeek.profilecustomization
    com.dynamogeek.textreplacement
  • Hi

I assume it's because of one of the packages. Starting the Package Server using DEBUG="*" npm start or docker run -e DEBUG=* … should provide some helpful debug output.

  • I'd found information to help fix issues using DEBUG earlier in the day, not sure why I didn't go back to it again. :D Using DEBUG I was able to figure out the issues (incorrect version number on one of the packages, and plain text passwords don't work).

As a separate question, can I set package availability based on group, or only based on member?

  • Hi

As a separate question, can I set package availability based on group, or only based on member?

sure, that's the whole point in defining groups. It's the JSON object keyed by the group name ("*":"*" in your example JSON).

  • Whoops, I misunderstood that section! I thought it was meant to hold more data than just the packages names. It works perfect now!

Thanks for the great chunk of code and the help. :)
